Weekly Update #22

Not much of an update this week as I didn't really paint at all but I did build all of my cultists AND a redemptor dreadnought so I got a picture of the built models:

"Get these damn bugs off me!

See you next week.

Weekly Update #20

Huzzah the 20 Mark! Lets go!

First is Guardian #2

He has a slightly taller backpack spire than the last one but is otherwise nearly identical.

Lots of gemstones on that back spire.

Then the Wraithlord. This guy was fun and I ended up just spending most of Sunday painting him.

The Gemstones... soooo many gemstones. How were these models painted before the gemstone paints?

More Gemstones, Khaine save us (Khaine never saves anyone)

Also first time using a transfer since I was like 12. Came out alright but I think I need the gloss varnish to avoid any bubbles in the future and the matte varnish to blend it with the model better.

First Wraithguard! Technically got 9 more of these (well 4 more 'guard' and 5 'blades' the melee variant)

Honestly some of my favorite looking models. Would build an army of nothing but Wraith Units if it were viable and their range was more than 8-12"

More Gemstones, because of course more Gemstones.

Pew pew!

Tempestus Scion #2 of the Morrighan Lowborn (regiment number pending)

First attempt at a new plasma coil style, Could definitely use some work.

First Space Marine painted since I was like 11 or 12. A chapter I'm calling "The Grim".

They hail from a moon orbiting Morrighan (where they take their recruits) and are a very low population Space Wolf Successor Chapter. I'm self-imposing a 500 point limit on the Grim for any game I play with them. Effectively they can only be an allied detachment due to their numbers.

Bleeps! Somethings incoming!

Its a gnome! First D&D mini in a while, wanna get back on this as well since D&D mini's are a fun change of pace to the uniformed look of other models. This is Lini the Pathfinder Iconic Druid

She collects sticks in her lore.

2nd Stormcast painted. Color scheme has changed a bit. The Sybarite green has been lost in favor of a dark grey accent color (more neutral) and the base has gone from bone to weathered stone. I redid those colors on the previous stormcast as well and I think they look a lot better.

I bought the "Paladin" helms from Puppetswar.eu I think they look much better if a tiny bit sci-fi in nature.

Overall I'm digging their theme and if the game is fun I'm thinking SCE will be my 'good' army (or at least my first good army since I like Daughters of Khaine and Dwarves as well) for Age of Sigmar

Its here! The Acolyte Hybrid Iconward. I mimic'd a style I saw on Reddit featuring coconut crab tyranids so thats what this guy is. Along with a lothern blue banner. The colors for future cultists might change slightly as I order the new contrast paints and see how they fair doing this style of scheme.

I do really like how he came out. I need to get some texture paint for his base since I want them to be from an arid desert world.

Finally I painted up Fire Warrior #10. I also changed the numbering of the squads so that I have two squads of 5 instead of 1 squad of 10. This guy is the last member of squad 1, making both squads 1 & 2 fully playable. (I plan to continue making MSU squads as I paint then once I hit the maximum number of those squads, usually 3 or 6 I will expand the squads to larger numbers)

We had some pretty major height variation. Sorry for the dark colors but you can see their silhouettes pretty good and how tall each model is compared to the others. From left to right: Gnome, Acolyte Hybrid, Tempestus Scion, Fire Warrior, Guardian, Space Marine, Stormcast, Wraithguard and in the back the Wraithlord.

Weekly Post #19

Its weekly post time!

Got the rest of the ghosts for Age of Sigmar done, I really like how the Hexwraith Flame paint came out making them look a bit like scooby doo ghosts but thats fine since I think it looks great.

These ones are called "Glaivewraith Stalkers" I guess. Heres another view with them facing to the side. The bases are really cool on these models.

Caw!

Heres the two new Myrmourn Banshees. Painted in the same style. I love their poses more than the Glaivewraiths. Just super fun and dynamic.

Swooping low is probably my favorite.

Rising out of the grave is pretty cool too. Very thematic.

Next we have a very good boy with the Stormcast "Gryph Hound" Very loyal.

The Stormcast are surrounded!

The SCE Sequitor and 4 Myrmourn Banshees

And the Gryph Hond vs 4 Glaivewraith Stalkers

He just wanted to pet the good boy.

Next we have my first Tempestus Scion and building into an Imperial Guard force. This army will act as secondaries for my Sisters and specifically be a guardsmen regiment from their homeworld. "The Morrighan 3rd", also known as the "Morrighan Lowborn" due to primarily taking their soldiers from the non-nobility. Tempsestus Scions are something of the exception to this rule as they are taken exclusively from the noble houses and sport their clans livery on both their barets and left shoulders.

Sorry if the pictures are a bit fuzzy went a bit fast this time.

They sport the same style of basing as my Sisters which should help tie them together when I field them all together. I also have two more sections to this combined arms "Imperial" army I'm putting together (Sisters will form its backbone however)

Again I went too fast taking pictures and this new Guardian is a bit fuzzy.

Welp thats it for this week.
