Week #45

Last Update of 2019!!!

And Back where we started with D&D miniatures!

A dual wielding barbarian. Big beefy boy. I really like how his base turned out. He represents Naso a human barbarian sorta-NPC in a D&D game I play (we run him in combat but otherwise hes an NPC).

His fur cloak!

After him is the arcanist (?) Iconic from pathfinder. I liked painting her cloak green but some of her details were a little... undetailed and hard to paint. Still her cloak turned out good. She represents Nephenee, our resident life cleric sorta-NPC for D&D. (same as Naso)

Next is the first mini I bought from Heroforge.com a nifty little site you can design and then 3D print minis from. She cost quite a bit (not as much as some of my warhammer heroes though). But Pixie miniatures are hard to come by so I designed one. This is Arianrhod my Bladelock pixie of Prometheus. Shes my character.

From the back. I tried to do little dots in silver on the wing before painting it with a blue wash but it was too dark so I drybrushed it with a lighter blue afterwards.

Finally I based the 3 other characters in our D&D setting, or at least the mini's who represent them.

Left is Boromir who represents Baird our vengeance paladin. Middle is Gloin who represents Philoktetes a dwarven soul in an animated suit of armor. Finally its Circe on the right represented by Elowyn. They were based in snow, gravel and grass respectively.

Weekly Post #44

Back at it again with more models!

The penitent engine from the battle sisters set!

Its a bit awkwardly colorful for a death engine.

Next up is the Repentia Superior who motivates those under her command with vicious and potentially deadly neuro-lashes.

Made 2 conversions to the original model. First I clipped the braziers off of her backpack because I just disliked them. I kept their sculpts though so I can reuse them elsewhere (you can still see the fuel tank on her backpack but its hardly noticeable, I also find it neat that they actually sculpted a fuel tank for her braziers). Next I replaced the standard head which was kind of ugly with a 3rd party head I got featuring a hood and rebreather. I think she looks pretty neat and menacing here.

Here she is leading her charges to glory. I might not have taken pictures of all of them I'll go back and check and post those next week if I didn't.

Next we have the Seraphim Squad. I got an order in of a green gemstone paint which I'm now using for the eye lenses on my girls as you can see here.

Its a bit hard to see the Tartan from the front so here's a better view. They're from Clan Mercia, the second clan I've named from Morrighan I.

Next up is the Seraphim Superior armed with a plasma pistol and power sword.

And a look of her from behind. I'm doing mixed paints for their hair so no two girls have identical shades of orange hair.

Unfortunately theres only a total of 3 sculpts for the seraphim (much like the repentia) but at least they come with different heads to mix things up a bit so I used the alternative head here.

And here's the last one, you'll notice she has the same pose as the firs tone with just a head alteration (I used another 3rd party head here, just a hood this time) The face lacks a bit of depth in this picture so I went back and did another wash of her features. Thats drying right now.

And the full squad. Lighting is a bit poor here but oh well. See you next week.

Weekly Post #42

Some more stuff!

I guess I already posted the mostly complete sister the other day but here she is finished:

She looks pretty good.

Heres a back view so you can see her tartan a bit better.

And a size comparison to the old sisters model and a model that came out sometime between the two designs (The old sister was 2nd edition, the pilot on the right was I believe 5th edition and the new sister is 8th edition) Pretty big difference in scale. The old models I got to bolster my forces will need some work to make them fit in alongside their taller sisters.

Next I painted up a seraphim. The lighting was a bit awful though and I couldn't get it to show her tartan pattern very well. She'll eventually have a flying base but I'm waiting for some specific glue to come in before I put her on it.

A back view which shows off the tartan a bit better.

Finally the sister Repentia I finished this morning. Shes still drying here but 99% done, all I have left is to paint the rim of her base black.

Weekly Posts #40 & #41

If I keep uploading late does that make me a Wizard?

Regardless here we goooo!

First up is the big boy Redemptor Dreadnought. He hasn't been named yet but he will be (likely using the name of my first commander to die)

Next up is Aggressors, as their name might suggest they like to be aggressive with a plethora of short range weapons to deal extra hurt with.

After them is the Battle Leader. Again unnamed but he has a pretty cool pose.

His back where you can see his wolfskin cloak

The first of the intercessors pointing his pistol at something.

Intercessor with Underslung Grenade launcher.

I think I've posted this guy before but he was part of how I decided on a color scheme for my Marines.

Marine with a Chainsword! I think this guy is the sergeant.

Another of the ones I've already posted but updated now.

Just another basic intercessor.

And again in a more lax pose.

Finally the Auspex scan Marine

The whole battle group (Leader, Redemptor, 3 Aggressors & 8 Intercessors)

Coming up next are my new Atalan Jackals for the GSC. Heres one with a shotgun and looks like some dynamite in their bag!.

The squad leader popping a sick wheelie!

Nothing says "Fuck you" like a man in a spacesuit(?!?) on an ATV with a pipe wrench.

Another angle.

This ones getting ready to chuck an explosive at someone.

This ones grenade launcher is primed and ready.

The leader leads his team into the wastes in search of fresh prey!

Here we have my latest finished T'au, a stock crisis battlesuit. These guys rock and are a tone of fun to paint I just wish they were better in the tabletop...

His weapons are magnetized.

Finally the new sisters have arrived so I started working on one today. She's almost done here, just need to do some final touches and wait for the wash to dry.
