So likely I'll be updating either Sunday or Wednesday from now on, today being Tuesday is a bit strange but my new schedule has me working Monday's & Tuesday's so I'll probably try for a regular Wednesday update day. Regardless here's this week!
Also I'm going to try and be consistent and place captions below the pictures from now on.
First is a metal pathfinder I got for free several years back.
Hes not in the best shape but he'll serve the Farisght Privateers nonetheless.
Next is another Fire Warrior, this one kneeling. I forgot to do the lens flair on his eyepiece so I'll have to fish him out of the transport box and do that super quick.
You'll notice his base is textured (as is the Pathfinders) Its not finished but I got my Astrogranite texture paint in so I started working on them. When its done it will look similar to the brown parts of the Sister's bases but in a grey instead representing urban rubble (other miniatures have stuff like girders and metallic parts fallen among the debris...)
Another Kroot Auxiliary! This one holding his gun up high! If you don't know much about the Kroot they are allies of the T'au, a race of cannibalistic bird-people who gain new traits based on the species they eat... I guess they don't eat their own so its more carnivorous than cannibalistic.
On Sunday my FLGS order came in along with two more metal Sisters of Battle. This first one is armed with a Heavy Bolter. Laying down supporting fire!
And beside her is a Multi-melta. Both are now ready to join my "Order of the Broken Blade" kill team.
Next is the Eldar Guardian posted last week. Hes painted up now as I've sort of strayed from the idea of Craftworlds. Instead I'll be building Harlequins, the mysterious lorekeepers of the Eldar race and guardians of the black library.... also they are space elf clowns. My craftworlders that I got will become a supplementary force to back them up. I'm going for a "Persona 5" theme with my harlequins and this guardian got to test out the scheme. Red+Black+White with quartering. On the body. For harlequins themselves I'll have two of the colors form a motley pattern in a quarter while the last of the three colors is a solid. For example in the left leg and right arm there are red & white motley while the right leg and left arm are solid black or any mixture of those combinations as I see fit. The idea for the bases here is to paint them as if in some kind of dream world... a solid blue base with splashes of pink wherever the model touches the base (here its emanating from the guardian's feet). I thin it would look better if I use green stuff to try and create a sort of ripple effect on the base and maybe have the edges fade to black or very dark blue.
Here's another picture of the same guardian that shows off the quartering a bit better but is slightly fuzzier. I'm also looking for opinions on what color the gemstones (currently just silver) should be.. I'm leaning either green or blue but I'm not sure. Maybe the bright blue of the base if I can find such a paint.
Finally this Wraithlord has been sitting in my "needs fixing" box for a while. I ordered some 60mm bases and finally got him situated and fixed up. Now he can join his Eldar Brethren once again. (Wraithlords, like all Wraith constructs are robots powered by an Eldar Soul placed in it and used as a pilot/powersource)
Finally a group photo so you can appreciate the Wraithlords height. Hes very big (for you)
