This week I started by finishing up one of my two remaining monsters for my Ogre Kingdoms... My Ironblaster.
I got this model off a friend and am frankly a bit disappointed in the condition but I bought it 5-6 years ago so I don't really have room to complain. Its missing some parts, and the Rhinox doesn't sit flush with the carriage and the rider is missing one arm (I proxied a banner standard arm with some greenstuff rope, it doesn't look great upon inspection but functions well enough from tabletop height. If I get really back into WHFB I'll probably buy a second one and retire this one to the box or only when I choose to take two Ironblasters.
Next I have two more dwarves I painted up as test models for my sisters. I tried using different metal combinations before the wash and different patterns/colors on the cloth.
Overall I think I like the middle dwarf's metal the most (Leadbelcher+Silver Highlights) while I prefer the leftmost tartan pattern but that may just be because I had more practice by the time I got to him.
Next week I plan to have the following:
- 6 More finished Ogres
- Fire Warrior, now that their paint is stripped I can now paint up a few practice models to see if I like my planned color scheme.
- A surprise. I'm already working on this one but its taken longer due to some project restraints but I'm excited about it.
